Wrath of the Lich King and Habadashery of the Behind

BigBearButt at Big Bear Butt asked us to recount our Wrath /facepalm and surprising good moments, so here we go.  (Spoilers below)

At 1 A.M. on the 13th of November, I took the leap and started a Death Knight.  I trundled through the quests and finally got to the quest A Special Surprise, where i was asked to kill a Blood Elf I knew before I died (in the storyline.)  Now, the quest is pretty straight forward.  You go into a building and the elf recognizes you and addresses you by name.  You eventually kill her after a small lore based scene.  The /facepalm comes in when, at the time she FINALLY becomes attackable, anyone can attack her.  The first time I go in, she is going through her scene with a particular player and someone else walks in and steals the kill, forcing the earlier player to go abandon and restart the quest.

This happened repeatedly to a number of players, including to me. After a few occurances, a few of us got together and started addressing players when they walked in. We eventually got everyone to wait their turn and wait to see the text to see who she was addressing.  Occasionally, there would be a Habadasher of the Behind who would fail to pay attention to things beyond their nose, but most stopped and waited their turn. In that way, the community came together to make things work even when the mechanics had broken down and were not working due to people in the instance who were only paying attention to themselves and not caring what happened to anyone else.

The third person that stole my turn actually came back and apologized, which kind of put a cherry on top of seeing people working together to make things work for each other.
